Insider Tips to
Schlitterbahn Make the Most of Your Day
at Schlitterbahn
Start your day at the Surfenburg and Blastenhoff
sections on Union Street where there is more parking
available as well as more admission booths at the Castle
Entrance.
Hop a tram from the main section of the park
around mid-day and go to the newer Surfenburg and
Blastenhoff sections. Free tram service is provided
between the two areas.
Buy Splash Cash. The waterproof wristbands have
tabs that can be used for food, beverage and gift shop
purchases throughout the park. Unused tabs, which are
still attached to the wristband, may be redeemed for
cash at the end of the day at all cash registers. (Since
purchases do not always total even dollar amounts, you
will still have to contend with change. It's a good idea
to have a zippered pocket or a waterproof change purse.)
Bring your own picnic. No glass items or alcohol
please. For your safety, all ice chests and picnic
supplies will be checked upon entry. [Sorry, no
barbecuing in the park.]
Claim a picnic table early. Put your cooler,
towels and gear on a table to make a home base for the
day. [Make sure all valuables are safely stowed in
lockers!] Set times for your group to meet at home base
for sunscreen breaks.
To avoid the crowds on weekends, come early or
late in the season. Weekends in April, May, June, late
August and September are less crowded than weekends from
July I through mid-August.
Protect delicate skin from the sun with
sunscreen, hats and light shirts. Check the gift shops
if you forget to bring some.
Secure glasses or sunglasses with a neck strap
[available at gift shops]. They may come off on some of
the slides. You may want to leave your most expensive
sunglasses at home!
Don't bring valuables into the park. Lock money
and keys in lockers instead of keeping them in
pockets where they may fall out in the slides. Lockers
are available for $3.00 all day with a $2.00 deposit.
Deposit is refunded when key is returned.
Guests with disabilities may obtain information
on park attractions or request assistance at any Guest
Relations booth, Customer Service location, or by asking
a park supervisor (look for the navy blue shirts]. |
