This year the 42nd Texan of the Year will be Lt. David Dewhurst.  He will be recognized at the Texas Legislative Conference. Past recipients include, President George W. Bush, Barbara Jordan, Herb Kelleher, and George Christian.

The 42nd Texas Legislative Conference is scheduled for March 27 -28. The Texan of the year reception is the evening of the 27th with the panels to follow on the morning of the 28th.

The conference has six major co-sponsors this year. The co-sponsors are CenterPoint Energy, ExxonMobil, Lower Colorado River Authority, PacifiCare of Texas, AT&T, and Time Warner Cable.
